US Ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield saluted India for a fruitful administration of the UN Security Council for the period of August.
Under India's Presidency, the Council held three meetings on Afghanistan and gave three press explanations on August 3, 16 and 27, the last one emphatically denouncing the "disgraceful assaults" close to the Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul on August 26.
On the penultimate day of India's Presidency, the Council gave the solid goal on Afghanistan requesting that Afghan region not be utilized to undermine or assault any nation or to sanctuary or train psychological militants, or to design or to fund fear monger acts. It emphasized the significance of fighting psychological oppression in Afghanistan.
